Hi, everyone! I'm Jaree Williams, and I'm so excited to be here today. As the founder of Navigating Postpartum Wellness, I help moms, just like you, reduce burnout and prioritize wellness while juggling motherhood. With firsthand experience navigating life with a one-year-old and a three-year-old, I understand how overwhelming things can get.
Today, I want to share a “slacker hack” that’s changed my life: the 10-Minute Reset. This simple mom habit helps reduce burnout and reclaim your day. The idea is straightforward: carve out 10 intentional minutes just for yourself, free of interruptions and guilt. Whether it’s deep breathing, journaling, stretching, or savoring a peaceful coffee moment, this hack is about making self-care manageable.
When life feels chaotic, self-care can feel impossible. This reset is both manageable and realistic. It's a powerful step towards building a consistent self-care habit. By committing just 10 minutes, you gradually reclaim your time and energy without succumbing to "mom guilt."
Schedule It: Prioritize these 10 minutes just like any other appointment. Choose a convenient time, whether it’s the morning, during nap time, or before bed. Consistency is key to turning this time into an essential routine part.
Set Boundaries: Communicate to your family that these 10 minutes are sacred. Show your children the importance of self-care by leading by example. This lesson is invaluable and sets them up for a lifetime of valuing personal time.
Start Small: If 10 minutes sounds daunting, begin with 5. It's not about perfection; it's about progress. Even small steps can lead to significant changes.
Use Reminders: Set phone alarms or leave sticky notes to remind you to take your reset. This isn't an obligation but a gentle nudge towards making self-care a priority.
